OBSERVATION TUBE If the unit has an observation tube, to use the observation tube the beam splitter must be in place. This is controlled by the lever on top of the microscope. The tube angle can be changed for the optimal viewing height by loosening the knob on the fixing ring on the tube near the base of the observation tube. Be sure to have a hold onto the top of the observation tube when loosening this screw so the tube does not fall. The image is rotated by the collar on the tube. This collar should be rotated to properly orientate the image. The eyepiece can be focused for the observer’s eye by rotating it counter-clockwise until the image (which should be in focus for the primary observer) is blurred and then rotated clockwise until it is just in focus.
